    Stacker Crane Positioning Image

    Challenge

In the ASRS (automated storage retrieval system), the stacker crane needs to be precisely positioned in order to avoid product or parcel damage and ensure accurate loading/unloading positioning. A solution that can precisely direct the location of the storage area so that equipment and product damage can be eliminated is needed.

    Solution

Banner’s time-of-flight LT7 laser sensors provide long-distance ranges up to 250 m with a visible red laser spot for easy alignment.

Depending on range needed, a diffuse or retroreflective time-of-flight laser sensor can be used. Retroreflective LT7 laser sensors provide ranges up to 250 m and diffuse LT7 laser sensors provide long-range background suppression up to 10 m.

The LT7 laser sensor features TEACH-mode programming, using integrated push buttons or a serial interface. The time-of-flight LT7 laser sensor provides two alarm outputs with ongoing LCD display continually showing sensing distance in millimeters or hundredths of an inch for easy troubleshooting.
